Group Class
Book a group candle making class for your friends or family gathering, work outing, or club! We've hosted book clubs, neighborhood associations, birthday parties, bachelorette parties, baby showers, holiday get togethers, and staff office outings. The class is two hours and is scheduled while our store is open. Pricing is $500 for 1-10 people, with options for larger classes.
Join us at our Store at 1050 W Bryn Mawr for a unique Candle Making experience! We’ll walk you through the entire creative process. You'll choose from our fragrances to blend your own singular custom scent for your two candles. At the end of the class, you’ll have two Travel Tins of your own personal scent to take home! (For example, you can blend Fraser Fir and Woodsmoke to create your two 'campfire' candles!) You’ll also design your own labels for your candles with provided art supplies. Participants receive 20% off all products during the class.
Classes last about 2 hours, and all materials are provided. You’re welcome to bring your favorite beverage and light snacks (sparkling water, pop, beer, and wine are welcome; hard alcohol is not allowed. Vaping and smoking are never permitted in our store.)
Transit options: CTA Red Line, and CTA bus lines 36, 84, 92, 136, 151, and 147. Check your map/transit app or CTA website for directions and details. Street parking is available on Bryn Mawr Ave and neighboring side streets.
What are your candles made from?
Edgewater Candles are made from midwestern soy wax, cotton wicks, and a blend of essential oils and phthalate-free scented oils. Using only these simple materials, with no additives or dyes, our candles are vegan, clean burning, long lasting, and cruelty-free.
Can I bring empty Mason Jars back for you to reuse or recycle?
Yes! When you return our containers to us for reuse or recycling, you'll get 10% off your purchase on the day you bring them back. Our store is located at 1050 W Bryn Mawr Ave. in Chicago, and we're open 11am - 6pm every day.
How long do your candles last?
Our 12oz Mason Jar candles burn for approximately 75 hours, and our 6oz Travel Tins burn for approximately 35 hours. To get the longest burn time from your candle, allow the wax to melt across to all edges of the container before extinguishing. This will help avoid “tunneling”, which can prevent some of the wax from being used. Keeping the wick trimmed will also ensure a longer burn time.
Are your products made in the US?
Yes. We make our candles and all of our products by hand in Illinois.

When will my order ship?
We will ship your order within 5 business days. You'll receive tracking information as soon as your package is sent. International shipping is not available at this time.

What is your return policy?
Refunds
Unused items may be returned for a refund within 30 days of purchase. Just send the item back to us and we'll issue a full refund. If you'd like us to purchase a return shipping label for you, contact us - we can send you a new label and we'll deduct the shipping cost from your refund. You can also bring your purchase back to our Store for a full refund or exchange.
Class Ticket Cancellations
Tickets are non-refundable once purchased and are valid only for the date purchased. If you have questions or need to cancel, please contact us.
Defective Items
Defective purchases that have been partially used may be eligible for an exchange or refund, depending on the situation. Please contact us to discuss your options.
Do you have coupon codes or discount codes?
We sometimes send discount codes or coupon codes in our newsletter, we include special codes occasionally with your order, and we may announce a code on social media from time to time. Certain discount codes may only be used on regularly priced items on our website, and exclude one of a kind items like ceramics. You can sign up for our newsletter at the bottom of this page.
If you select Local Pickup at checkout, we'll email you once your order is ready (usually within 2 hours while we're open), letting you know you can pick it up at our store at 1050 W Bryn Mawr Ave. We're open 11am - 6pm every day.
